about ocean

My name is Ocean. For the first time in my life, I can  say that I'm truly happy. I forgive, but never forget. I'm very honest, and I don't believe in false modesty - it's just another form of lying. I wish it was summer all year long. I live in a fairly boring town, but I always find things to do. A typical day for me goes like this - well, there is no typical day for me. I tend to sleep late whenever I can. My mates and I get together almost every weekend just to hang out or practice with my band WTF MATE?!. Sometimes things in my life happen as if they were out of a movie. That's why I love going out with friends because something awesome always happens. Always.

my band, wtf mate?!

I'm in a band called WTF MATE?! if you didn't know so already. Even though we might not be very "musically mature", this band s one of the best things that have ever happened in my life. Our songs were so much fun to record! We're making  music for ourselves and not for anyone else. We're trying get better personally and to learn more about music and how to play together in a band, work things out, and compromise - all that good stuff.

music

Many people tell me that I have the best taste in music. That's one thing I wouldn't argue with them No really, I feel after years of listening to almost everything I can I've developed a very strong and indefinable taste in music. I like everything that's good regardless of the genre. What I mostly listen to is rock music. Don't be fooled though, rock is something that varies from classics to black metal. I listen to those and everything in between. Even most of the songs on my page are rock songs, but they're calm and soothing. That's exactly what I want the viewer of this site to feel when they come here. I also like

friends

I have very high standards when it comes to friends. I think that I'm one of the best friends someone can ask for, and therefore I demand no less I return. I protect other's secrets with my life, and no one has been able to get someone else's secret out of me till this day. I'm also true to my words. I'm honest and I tell people what I feel if it concerns them. Once someone gains my trust, if they'll tell me something I'll believe them. The fact that I believe others is definitely a fault I have to myself. My closest friends are the best of the best. We always have so much fun together, and we feel that If we were to put together a collection of all our adventures we could create a hit movie, book, or anything else we choose. If we become friends, you're in for a treat.

musical history

Warning: this is the long, boring part of me.

I'm a musical person, and I hope to become a professional musician one day. The first instrument I've played was the piano ever since I was little. We used to have a grand piano at our house which I played my first notes on. At age 6 one of my friend's mom asked me if I wanted to learn how to play the piano. I said yes, and she gave me her card to show my parents to contact her if they agreed, and they did. I've been playing for almost a year, but got really bored of it. Every time I'd go to their house I would always want to play with my friend rather than play the piano. I don't really regret not learning it, i don't think its the instrument for me even though everyone tells me I'd be really good at it. Anyway, elementary school, PS 87 in Manhattan didn't have any musical programs for the students. When I moved to Fair Lawn in 5th grade, someone suggested that I'd play in the school's band. I chose to be in the orchestra. The instruments they offered to us were the violin, the viola, and the cello. I thought that the violin was too common and overrated, so I chose to play the viola. I never learned anything that year though. the following year in middle school I had to play by ear since I couldn't read notes and my teacher didn't teach me how to. It was a pain and I've shed some tears over it because I hate not being good at something I want to be good at. finally in 7th grade I learned how to read notes, and I did so much better that year. Thanks to Mark Hoppus [the bassist of Blink 182] I was inspired to play the double bass. I had to beg my teacher to let me play both the viola and the bass during the concerts, but that never happened. Instead that year I had to come after school for bass lessons where I learned how to read notes and play a couple songs. In 8th grade is where everything I knew musically blossomed. I finally got to play both the viola and the double bass at the school concerts & tours. In 8th grade the double bass was my main instrument, and I only played one song on the viola and I was first seat with both instruments [even though the bassists stand up ] I got a solo with both instruments. That same year I was also inspired to play the guitar. After seeing Avenged Sevenfold in concert on February 4th, Brian Haner Jr. inspired me greatly. The following month I got my first guitar. The first song I learned on it was Adam's Song by Blink 182. This is the instrument I really look forward to succeeding with. I think that I've greatly improved after such a short time of playing.

Whoever read all this, thank you.
