How to create glamour shots
This tutorial will guide you through the steps it takes to create a glamorous
looking photograph out of dull image.
-
Start with a photograph. I'm going to start with a shot of Amy
Adams.

-
Duplicate the layer. To do this go to Layer > Duplicate Layer
OR simply go to your Layers Window, right click and choose "Duplicate Layer".

-
Now you're going to blur your photo!
Take the layer you've just created (the layer on top) and go to Filter > Blur
> Gaussian Blur. On the bottom where it says 'Radius:' put 2.1 (this
measurement should work with most pictures, but for pictures that are way
larger, increase the blurring intensity).

-
Set the opacity level to 80%.

- Now's the time for a little erasing. Select the eraser from the Toolbar.
Once you've selected your eraser, make sure it has the following settings:

- I like to use a round brush. You may adjust the size of the brush depending
on your photo. I used 13 px in width. Remember, you want to only erase the
blurriness on the thin outlines and details - adjust accordingly.
- the opacity should be set to 20%.
- Now you can start erasing. Erase the outlines, facial features and small
details which you would like to remain sharp.

- Notice how I only erased the blurriness on the features on her face (the
eyes, nose, and mouth), the outlines of her hair along with some
hair strands, the outlines of her arms, legs, dress etc. You get the idea
.
Remember that you are not limited to these options for erasing, but these seem
to get the most realistic results.
-make sure you don't erase too much (then what was the point of
blurring it?)
- in the same light, make sure you don't leave the photo too blurry (or else
it will look like something out of a dream - blurry and hard to see the
detail)
- Merge the two layers. Click on Layer > Merge Down OR click Ctrl + E.
- Duplicate the layer again.
- Blur the top layer again (same settings)
-
This time, set the opacity to 30% and the mode to Screen

-
Now repeat steps 7-9. With your new layer, set the opacity to
10% and the mode to Overlay. This will add some more color to the
photo.
-
Flatten all of your layers by going to Layer > Flatten Image.
-
Your final image should look something like this:
